Old Post Office House Covid information for guests
The safety and health of our team, guests and family is our main priority. As such and in line with Scottish Government Guidelines we have put strict Covid-19 measures in place to make your stay as safe as possible.
Returning guests will notice some changes but we hope you will still enjoy a comfortable stay.
We have cleaned and sanitised the house before your arrival. All surfaces will have been cleaned and sanitised using products tested to EN 14476.
Particular attention will have been paid to high touch points eg door/drawer/window handles, hairdryers, kitchen appliances, remote controls, taps, toilet flush, light, socket and lamp switches, the house key etc.
All cutlery and crockery is washed at high temperature in the dishwasher.
Duvets and pillows are changed between guests and all mattress, pillow and duvet protectors are also changed over.
Mattresses, carpets and curtains will have been hoovered and sprayed with disinfectant.

We hope this will reassure you that the house is safe for your arrival.

The house will look a little bare.
Cushions and throws have been removed.
We have removed books, games, maps, DVD’s, along with ornaments and other high touch items that are not as essential to have.
The cutlery and crockery has been reduced. Hopefully there is still enough but if there is anything you require that is missing please contact us and we can help.
Smoking- there is a no smoking policy inside the house. If you smoke please let us know and we can arrange an outdoor ashtray for you.
Hand Sanitiser- will be available in the house for your use.
Bedrooms- Not all the beds will be made up as we normally would. Guests will be asked to advise what room(s) are required before arrival.
Before departure we ask that the beds are stripped, and the bedding and mattress/pillow protectors placed in the bag provided. Similarly, with the towels. This will help us greatly.
Developing Covid-19 Symptoms- If you develop symptoms while staying with us you must advise us immediately. You must book a test through NHS Inform. If you can travel home safely to isolate, avoiding the use of public transport, you should do so. If this is not possible (eg involves a ferry) this should be discussed with the NHS Test and Protect Team. If the safest option is to remain in our accommodation you would be liable for the costs of an extended stay.
If we need to cancel your booking because of COVID-19-We may need to cancel your booking at short notice due to COVID-19 (e.g. for an outbreak on the island, return to lockdown, or the guests before you having to self-isolate). In such cases we will refund your booking or move your booking to another date if you prefer.
Local relationships are important to us and some are understandably apprehensive about the potential impacts of returning visitors; your thoughtfulness will help reassure them. We would urge all our guests to respect social distancing measures and hygiene protocols when using local services, as well as in the wider community generally.
